Humata tyermanni has eccentric, woolly, creeping stems or rhizomes that
are responsible both for part of its ornamental value and its common name.
When there is adequate growth, many of these small, pale brown wolf's tail with silvery tips can be seen hanging over the edge of the pot.
They contrast attractively with the dark green, upright, leathery fronds.
